Soon after the practice was established it received a number of awards and gained media recognition for its highly crafted approach to design developed through a close dialogue with its clients.
From a starting point designing furniture such as Bed Box, the firm has expanded its expertise into various building types and now works with large scale clients including Scottish Canals, housing associations and various arts organisations, but still regards each project as an opportunity to explore new themes whatever its scale. A strong team ethic, methodical approach to design and sense of enjoyment are central to the firm’s exceptional track record.
From its base in the centre of Edinburgh’s old town, close to the university, the team has developed a network of international links with other individuals and practices with whom it collaborates.
Oliver Chapman Architects is an RIBA Chartered Practice with both RIAS Sustainable Architecture and Conservation Accredited professionals in its team.
